Project 1

Case Study: Shading & Lighting

This project was the only assignment in my architecture module of this short semester. By working closely with the team members, a presentation board was constructed on the topic of shading and lighting. With the help of devices such as compass and light meter, we tried to figure out the maximum thermal comfort for those spaces.

Reflection

This module helped improve my understanding in many ways;

 

  • I was made aware of the measures that can be taken to create an environmental friendly place with effective use of energy. 

  • It also improved my social /group skills where I had to interact with different mindsets and how every idea needs to be welcomed and worked around.

  • It improved my time management as well as I had to meet all my deadlines and I could not lag as it would affect not only mine but the entire group’s grade. 

  • I also comprehended design in the framework of an external climate. 

 

In conclusion, I would like to thank the tutors for helping us with this project and constantly providing constructive feedback so we can improve on this project.
